As you know, the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) is being implemented by converging various schemes of Central and State Governments. As mentioned in the guidelines, one of the main thrust areas in SAGY is 100% enrollment of villagers from SAGY GPs in social security, pension, insurance, saving and financial inclusion schemes. We know that, in spite of the various awareness programs on social security schemes, enrolment level in these schemes is not up to the desired level as the information is not available in an accessible and common platform.
In order to bridge the gap, the SAGY division has taken efforts to create a document titled ‘SAHYOG’ with the essential information on the existing social security schemes collated from respective ministries viz. Department of Financial Services (Ministry of Finance), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Posts (Ministry of Communications and Information Technology) and National Social Assistance Programme (MoRD). SAHYOG aims to be a tool enabling villagers to learn about and enroll in the social security schemes and avail affordable insurance coverage.
