Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) was launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on 11th October, 2014 with the objective of creating model Gram Panchayats in different parts of the country. The development of Gram Panchayats identified under SAGY is intended to take place through the convergence and implementation of existing Government Schemes and Programmes without allocating additional funds.
As per the Guidelines of the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, various Central Government Departments have prioritised their schemes to enable priority to the SAGY Gram Panchayats in their respective schemes. National Centre of Organic Farming, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation has conveyed vide letter dated 07.09.2015 that they have been conducting Farmers training and Field demonstration programmes during 2015-16 & 2016-17 in the villages identified under SAGY through its regional centres located at different parts of the country.
